Re: BREAKING: Hillary wins Puerto Rico (2.00 / 2)

Isn't that amazing?  Polls just closed and they're calling it by a wide margin already.

YEAAAHH!

I guess the exit poll show a stomping 31 percent spread did it.

Re: BREAKING: Hillary wins Puerto Rico (2.00 / 1)

Looks like a 36 spead among women and a 38 spread among men.

It's funny that since Obama is not very electable in Ohio, Florida, West Virginia, Arkansas, Kentucky, and makes Pennsylvania a toss-up, his supporters say he will offset that with a perfect-chain-of-states EV victory in the Southwest.

But in the Southwest, we've had

Hillary winning Arizona
Obama winning a caucus in Colorado (no surprise)
Hillary winning Nevada
Hillary winning New Mexico
Hillary winning West Texas
Hillary winnin Southern California

And now Obama's weakness among Latinos look like it's on par with his weakness in West Virginia.  I was expecting maybe a 15% spread.  These numbers, like Kentucky and West Virginia are absolutely UNREAL.

Re: BREAKING: Hillary wins Puerto Rico (none / 0)

Yes because the demographics of Puerto Rico are the same as Mexican Americans.

For the past few months Hillary Clinton has teamed up with McCain and the rest of the GOP to try to rail Obama. And he is STILL way ahead of McCain in the Polls, both in popular consensus AND in the (hypothetical electoral college).

This time in 2000 Clinton was behind both Bush and Perot. There is absolutely NO evidence to suggest that an electoral comparison between the democratic primaries and the GE means shit.

When (not IF) Obama beats McCain in November can I come back and say I told you so?

Re: BREAKING: Hillary wins Puerto Rico(whoppe do) (none / 0)

Polls show Obama beats her in a head to head matchup with Democrats natiowide also.

Everyone knows that she won PR because of Bill's great popularity there and the fact that most of the Pr's living state side live in New York where her senate seat is.

Nothing new here.We already knew that if you completely stack the deck in her favor she can win sometimes.

Spread (none / 0)

No one expected a landslide of 36%.  These spreads that she puts up have been unreal recently.

Re: Wonder how many delegates she'll net. (none / 0)

It doesn't matter how much she'll net since she's 180 behind Obama. The question is how many he'll gain from the election.  He needs 64 right now to clinch the nomination. Most people are predicting that, with PR, SD, and MT, he'd need 20 supers to clinch.

You're deluded. 8-10 is pissing on something? If I said 20 would you be happy? How about if I just said who gives a hoot since she can't catch up?

I took is as an insult, was I wrong?  Neither of them can win with pledged delegates, so the popular vote is what this is about.  I thought you brought up the small number of delegates to piss on her great win.

Insensitive to post numbers (which were wrong btw) about a political primary on a political website.

I didn't post the vanity fair article calling into question Bill's fidelity. I just posted some numbers.

Its the popular vote! (1.50 / 2)

Obviously its the popular vote that matters. Specifically the popular vote that includes voters who DON'T matter (because they cannot vote in the GE) and excludes voters who do matter (caucuses and Obama Michigan voters).

And superdelegates will be swayed.

As Puerto Rico goes, so goes America!

Re: After arrogant people like that.. (none / 0)

I'm sorry, but with Clinton dismissing American voters in states across the country throughout the primary, and now trying not to count caucusers, why should Puerto Ricans count more than people who actually can vote in the GE?

And no, its not surprising PR went for Hillary. Bill is wildly popular there, and people associate the two.

If you're only counting eligible voters for the GE, Puerto Rico would not factor in.

Re: It was actually a legitimate question (none / 0)

As I said it's all based on who you want to count. Some count the "popular" as an argument for who would win the General.

Also, those who voted for Obama in Caucus states and wanted to (or tried to) vote for Obama in Michigan should count as well.

Unless you work for Enron.

Did it become a state while I was out shopping?

They don't vote in the GE and this insignificant win shouldn't be counted in the popular vote totals.
